Welcome to Holroyd School

Dear Parent / Carer,

As previously advised, students will return to face-to-face learning with NSW Health-approved COVID-safe Level 3 plus settings in the following order:

· from 18 October – Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 12

· from 25 October – all remaining year groups.

We have finalised our COVID-safe plan and have put some procedures in place to reduce the risk of transmission between staff and across student cohorts.

Parent/carer pick-up and drop-off times and locations - We have organised students into 3 groups to assist with morning and afternoon transitions and to ensure the mingling of staff and student cohorts is kept to a minimum. Parents/carers are asked to assist their child in and out of the vehicle and wear masks. Please refer to the attached school map and specific plan outlined below.

Group 1 Students in classes, J1, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8, J9 and J10.

Parent/carer drop off from 8:40 - 9am using the Clarence Street driveway.

Parent/carer pick up from 2:45 – 2:55pm using the Clarence Street driveway.

Group 2 Students in classes, J11, J12, J13, J14, J15, J16, J17 and J18.

Parent/carer drop off from 9 to 9:15am using the Willara Avenue driveway.

Please follow staff directions indicating where to park and drop off your child.

Parent/carer pick up from 3 – 3:10pm using the Clarence Street driveway.

Group 3 Students in classes, S19, S21, S22, S23, S24, S25, S26, S27, S28, S29 and S30.

Parent/carer drop off from 8:40 - 8:55am using the Willara Avenue driveway.

Parent/carer pick up from 2:55 – 3:10 outside the school office area.

Scan the QR code.

To assist with the safe and timely pick-up and drop-off of students. We ask ALL parents/carers to:

1) Wear a mask and maintain social distance (1.5 metres).

2) Assist your child into and out of the vehicle.

3) Follow any instructions provided by school staff regarding any necessary movement of your vehicle to ensure everyone’s safety.

4) Be aware of pedestrians as you enter and exit the school driveways.

5) Comply with 40km/hr speed limit when using the driveway.

If using the Clarence Street driveway: as per usual, join the back of the line-up which is likely to extend down the street and comply with any parking restrictions and NSW road rules, do not turn right into the driveway in front of other parents/carers waiting in the line-up, do not leave your vehicle until you are parked beneath the covered area

If using the Willara Ave driveway: join the back of the vehicle line-up which is likely to extend down the street and comply with any parking restrictions and NSW road rules.

If you and your child are pedestrians, we request that you use the pedestrian gates to enter and exit the school and scan the QR code at the gate. Please hold your child’s hand at all times.

Assisted School Transport Program – This program will continue as usual with some school- based procedures to minimise the mingling of staff and student cohorts as students arrive to and depart from school on ASTP vehicles. Parents/carers are asked to wear masks when assisting their child on and off ASTP vehicles.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the school if you have any concerns or queries. Thank you for helping to keep our school community safe.

Regards,

K.Thorson

Principal
