Therapy at Holroyd School

If families seek therapy to take place at school, written requests must come from parents or carers first. Therapy goals also need to be clearly presented by both parents/carers and therapists.

Parent request forms can be downloaded here:

Therapists must also provide the following documentation:

1.Department of Education Agreement

2.Declaration for child-related work - Specified volunteers and child-related contractors

3.Child Protection Certificate

4.Working with Children Check certificate

5.Anaphylaxis and other relevant training cerificates (if applicable)

6.Worker's compensation insurance

7.Public liability insurance

All documentation should be emailed to holroyd-s.school@det.nsw.edu.au

Once all documentation is received, the application is given to Holroyd School’s Learning and Support team for consideration. The Principal has the discretion to decide whether or not an external service provider can enter the school and how arrangements will be managed for the provider’s activity with students.

Please note that if therapy is taking place at school, it should also be taking place in the home/family environment. The NDIS operational guidelines state that: “NDIS-funded services should generally not be delivered at the school … nor should children or young people be taken out of school to receive these supports”.
