Dear parents and carers,
It was wonderful to see so many parents, carers and friends last week at our annual educational showcase. I am sure you will agree that both concerts were tremendous. I was once again moved by the courage, talent and passion on display this year and I congratulate every student who participated. Our teachers and support staff are worthy of a round of applause too for the many hours spent preparing our students and the stage for such a momentous occasion. Bravo!
Our students have enjoyed a vibrant term three. We have explored our love of literature during Book Week; challenged ourselves with sporting, music and swimming endeavours; and celebrated important milestones together.
This term has also seen building improvements continue, with further works to the middle school and adjoining playground and the creation of a new classroom next to the Community Hub.
After such a busy ten weeks, I hope everyone has the time to relax and enjoy time with loved ones during the break. I look forward to seeing you back at school on Monday 14 October.
Mrs K Thorson
Dear parents and carers,
It has certainly been a busy term. We saw our children carefully choose gifts for loved ones at our Father's Day stall, dress up as their favourite book character for Book Week and perform on stage in front of family and friends at the school concert.
While some classes spent exciting days riding horses at RDA in Box Hill, others enjoyed the sunshine at Rouse Hill Regional Park.
Term four promises just as much excitement, with planning well underway for our spectacular all-school Funathon. Don't forget to purchase a sausage sandwich at the P&C barbecue on the day. All monies raised will fund more educational experiences for our students.
The P&C AGM will be held next month. We are seeking parents and carers to fill vacant President, Treasury and Secretary positions, or to simply help out where they can. Forms will be available at the school office for anyone who wishes to participate.
Our next P&C meeting is at 9.30am on Wednesday 16 October, 2024. All parents and carers are welcome to join us. These meetings are an invaluable opportunity to discover what is happening at school and connect with other parents and school staff.

Until next time,

It was standing room only in the hall on Thursday 19 September, as families, friends and teachers came together to watch our students perform in the annual Holroyd School educational showcase.
A highlight of our school calendar, the two concerts comprised 16 musical performances, including classic songs such as Ghostbusters, We Could be Heroes, I'm a Believer and Footloose.
The confidence and enthusiasm displayed by all our performers was infectious and it was wonderful to see the audience clapping and singing along to every tune.
It was a tremendous effort by all staff and students and a culmination of many weeks of preparation and rehearsal.
Take a look at these photos taken backstage:
Dressing up as our favourite book character and parading in front of friends and family concluded a fun week of Book Week celebrations recently.
This year's Book Week theme was Reading is Magic.
Students participated in various activities throughout the week in their classrooms, including reading a range of books, watching online telling of stories and creating clever artworks to showcase favourite tales.
Our youngest learners certainly made a splash this term during our two-week water safety program.
Students have gained valuable confidence in the water and practised important, life-saving skills such as kicking, floating and paddling.
We are very proud of our students eager participation and wonderful progress in this fabulous program.
Olympic fever hit Holroyd School this term.
M14 students each contributed to a class artwork that was submitted to the Australian Olympic Committee.
M17 were sporting stars in the pool and on the track, with students chasing gold in the M17 Olympic Games.
M12 had an Olympic-themed cooking lesson, preparing colourful pancake Olympic rings, sweet medals and Tiny Teddy swimming champions.
