Principal's Report

Dear parents and carers,
Parents and carers play an important role in the education of their children. Working and learning together as partners to personalise learning and support is fundamental to every student’s learning and wellbeing at school, and beyond.
Strengthening the school-family partnership is an area for improvement in the School Excellence Plan. This year, the school’s consultation, collaboration and communication practices were evaluated and together we have made some great progress.
Some key achievements include:
- a statement to describe our shared vision for the school as a safe and supportive environment in which collective effort paves the way for an empowering journey with endless possibilities.
- a set of shared values; Accountability, Safety, Partnerships, Independence, Respect, and Empowerment, a common language to align your beliefs to the principles that underpin our work.
- a new motto: endless possibilities, to remind us of our vision and, because it is true – when it comes to your child’s strengths, potential and journey, anything is possible!
- positive initial consultation with your P&C representatives about what’s next, pending additional consultation, we anticipate we will be ready to move forward with trialling some of the ideas when students return for the 2026 school year.
Recently we secured the assistance of a creative design team within the department for a new school logo to create a visual image that reflects our shared vision, values and motto. If you would like to contribute a design, the team would appreciate some inspiration in the form of a painting, drawing, digital image, or something else. At the end of the first week of Term 4, we will deliver everything we receive to the design team, and excitedly await what our students, staff, and our community have inspired.
Thank you for your feedback about the new report format, your ideas and suggestions have contributed to the annual achievement report your child will receive toward the end of the year. This report will include information about your child's co-developed, receptive and expressive communication goals and photos of your child - relaxed, happy, engaged and learning.
Have a wonderful and safe school holidays.
Kind regards,
Mrs K Thorson
