Dear parents and carers,
I want to firstly acknowledge the achievements of our seven wonderful year 12 graduates. I thank them for their laughter, enthusiasm, friendship and contribution to Holroyd School over the years. By your actions and achievements you have contributed not only to the culture of this school but to the memories that will long remain after your departure. Go well, stay safe and on behalf of Holroyd School, I wish you every happiness.
I also congratulate our youngest learners and their parents/carers. Well done kindergarten students on your very first year of primary learning. Here's to many more fulfilling years here at Holroyd School.
It's time to farewell Deputy Principal, Noel Gover. We appreciate the enormous contribution you have made to this school and your students' lives for many years. Your expertise, kindness and tireless efforts in the pursuit of education will be dearly missed by all. We wish you the very best of luck in all your future endeavours.
I also extend best wishes to departing relieving Assistant Principal Alain Khanh. We wish you well at your new school next year.
Today is the final day of the 2023 school year for our students. All the best for the festive season. Students return to school on Thursday 1 February, 2024.
Until next time,
Mrs K Thorson
Dear parents and carers,
The Holroyd P&C held its Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 1 November. The following ladies were re-elected to the P&C executive for 2024:
Chairperson : Liz Brannon
Vice Chairpersons : Gina Hamoui and Keshrin Chand
Secretary : Sjaantele Kennedy-Carney
Treasurer : Hamida Kanj
The role of the P&C is to be the school's 'parent voice' and to support the school for the benefit of all students. It's only together that we can build a strong supportive environment for our children and staff members.
Why not join us next year for our monthly P&C meetings (first Wednesday of every month) or our weekly, fun get-togethers (every Thursday morning)? Both are held in the Community Hub on the school site. All parents and carers are welcome. Look out for more information in the new year.
We have had a jam-packed 2023, with events including the Mother's and Father's Day stalls, Carer's Week celebrations, the art exhibition, as well as contributing to the inaugural, very successful Fun-a-thon.
On behalf of the P&C, I congratulate the Class of 2023 and wish them the very best for their futures.
Have a safe and restful holiday.
Until next term,
Liz Brannon

Variety Children's Christmas Party
Students were treated to a day of fun at the Variety Children's Christmas Party at Rosehill Racecourse on Wednesday, 6 December.
There were stage shows, carnival rides, interactive games, face painting, dancing and singing.
Our students loved meeting superheroes and emergency services, patting farm animals and trying a range of party foods.
Our budding artists, from kindergarten to year 12, were celebrated at our annual art exhibition last month.
Thank you to the many parents, friends and carers who stopped in to admire the students' remarkable efforts and purchase artwork.
This term students had fun learning fundamental volleyball skills, such as serving, throwing, catching and passing, with expert coach Patricia from Eastern Suburbs Volleyball Club.
Students kept it cool in term four with ice skating at Liverpool Catholic Club.
The five-week program enabled students in classes J9, M18, S21, S22 and S30 to learn some basic ice skating skills, such as balancing and gliding gently on the ice. Penguin chairs allowed students to move gently and safely around the rink.
Students were supported on the ice by a band of vounteers, one of which was Catherine, our very own Class of 2020 graduate!
Year 12 students were presented class jackets in senior assembly this term.
Many thanks to charity Trails Incorporated for supplying these wonderful keepsakes.
Wishing all our students, families and staff a safe and happy summer holiday.
