We are now half way through the final term of the school year, but we still have a busy five weeks ahead of us.
We are currently enrolling students for 2023 and getting to know our new families; writing semester two reports about your child's achievements; planning next year's classes and recruiting staff; and arranging the graduation ceremony for our year 12 school leavers.
There are still a number of lessons, excursions and events to fit into the second half of the term in what shapes to be an exciting finish to the year.
Don't forget the Community Hub is there for you every Thursday too for a cuppa and a chat and the chance to meet other parents in our wonderful community. Sign in from 9.30am via the school office.
Until next time,
Mrs K Thorson

Students from six senior classes had an exceptionally 'cool' day at the Ice Rink at Liverpool Catholic Club on Monday 31 October.
The excursion, organised by children's charity Variety, enabled seated students to glide gently and safely on the ice with the support of many volunteers.
The day was also an opportunity for our students to demonstrate Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) rules in the community, including navigating busy environments, following instructions and taking turns.
Variety supports children and families facing challenges through sickness or living with a disability.
Staff and students in S24 had a wonderful time at Sydney Zoo recently. The wet weather certainly didn't dampen their spirits as they visited the giraffe, zebra and elephant enclosures.
Everyone was fascinated by the many species of fish in the aquarium, and were enthralled by the sharks and penguins.
After a long morning sight-seeing, students expanded on their money and communication skills by purchasing their lunch (using their school wallets) at the zoo's cafe and some memorabilia from the gift store.
Kiara : "We saw a lion like in the Lion King. It was sitting on a big rock."
Mohammed M : "I like the cheetah, it runs fast."
Robert : "We watched a tiger talk. The zookeeper fed the tiger meat. It is a carnivore."
Nour : "My favourite is snakes. We walked in the reptile park. I pointed the snakes out behind the glass."
Najla : "We visited the aquarium and I saw a big and long crocodile in the water. It goes SNAP!"
The students in J3 have had a great second semester, participating in a range of learning activities such as swim school, art, assembly, switch work, morning and afternoon circle, walking and various outdoor activities.
During meal times, we are learning to communicate with our teachers by pressing a switch to ask for 'more', signing 'more' by tapping our hand on our chest or using PECS symbols to say 'I want'.
We all enjoyed performing with our friends in J1 at the recent school concert. We are now looking forward to the Children's Christmas Party and the Holroyd School Art Show.
Our class has had an extremely busy year, working together as a team and learning from one another. We are very proud of our students hard work and many achievements. Well done.
In J12 we engage in daily calendar work, practise our spelling and counting, and work on matching letters and numbers.
Every week we participate in a range of play-based learning activities, such as hunting for animals and puzzle pieces in sensory rainbow-coloured rice.
We had a wonderful time at Srinjoy's recent 10th birthday celebration with chips, pizzas and an enormous (and very delicious) birthday cake!
We also celebrated Halloween last week by creating spooky artworks using different materials including paint, crepe paper and cellophane.
Until next time,
Krishiv, Srinjoy, Yoonis, Emmanuel, Ahmed, Joseph, Brad, Marcella and Cindy.
In S29 we have been working very hard to achieve our learning goals, especially in numeracy, literacy and communication.
We have also been having a lot of fun. Some class highlights include the music program we participate in every Monday, our concert performance, ice skating and playing board games every Wednesday with our friends in S30.
