Dear parents and carers,
Firstly I want to thank you all for the support you have shown the school, your child and our community during this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Although some restrictions have been lifted, it is not yet business as usual. We all still need to maintain very good hygiene, social distancing and follow government directions.
Learning at home certainly presents some challenges, but also some amazing opportunities. I have loved keeping up to date with some of our students’ learning adventures! I continue to be amazed by the way our staff have risen to the occasion!
Monday 11 May: students attend school one day a week and learn from home on the other days.
From next week, students will attend school 1 day per week on their allocated day. This will allow students to make contact with their teachers, learning support officers and friends. Our school, like all public schools across NSW is following the Department of Education’s Managed Return to School plan. All children learning at home or at school will be marked “present” on the class roll.
Some children will continue to attend on other days. Keep your child/children at home if possible.
Schools are safe places for students, teachers and staff
The NSW Health Department has determined that schools are safe places for students and staff.
No unnecessary visitors will be allowed on-site.
Keeping student numbers low will allow for more classroom and playground space and flexible timetables.
Follow health advice and keep your child/children at home if they are unwell.
If your child is medically vulnerable to COVID-19, you may choose to keep your child at home and the teachers will continue to support their learning at home.
The school will have cleaners on site throughout each day and there are enhanced cleaning procedures in place.
Staff will be implementing standard infection control procedures.
The Department of Education website has regular updates.
Until next time,
Anne Flint
